Philips PFL7606 3D TV

The Philips 7000 series now offers a passive 3D TV in a relatively affordable price range. This series includes the 21:9 Gold Series already presented, and the Philips PFL7606 3D TV discussed here. Some of the main features of this passive technology 3D TV are a frequency of 100 Hz, the DLNA, the Ambilight and the PVR function.
Philips joins TV makers such as LG in offering Passive 3D TV technology, which by the way great start for our Asian friends to their more tolerable 3D TV glasses which are compatible on all Passive 3D providers and are light and more affordable. We must point out again that the definition of the image is divided into two in 3D mode, and a 100 Hz passive 3D TV would be equivalent to a 200 Hz active 3D TV. It also has 2D/3D conversion function to allow viewers to convert 2D content to 3D for times when insufficient 3D content is available.

Looking at other features we find Level image processing and there is nothing particularly new here. The images are always treated with Precise Pixel HD Engine and HD Natural Motion compensation (less powerful than the 8000 and 9000) associated with 100 Hz Clear LCD. The Philips PFL7606 3D TV also offers the PVR functions to record TV programs, and the Dual View to play two full screen with the PS3 on the same TV (3D mode and 3D glasses required).

On the DLNA side, Philips PFL7606 3D TV has joined the Net TV (revolution but the main portal Smat 720p TV with Skype and Internet browser seems to be absent (tbc)). As far as Multimedia is concerned, the DivX HD is no longer supported although there is still some compatibility with some MKV (no DTS) and y Divx HD. It is possible to read the media via USB and UPnP. Some of the main features of the Philips PFL7606 3D TV are listed below:

  • LED Edge TV 3D Ready 1080p (Clear LCD 100 Hz)
  • Easy 3D (3D Passive), 2D/3D conversion on the fly
